SAFE CARAVAN TOWING TIPS

Tyres – properly inflated & the same size and condition. Fit new if in doubt

Load mass – does the suspension look right, is the load properly distributed and balanced, is it below the weight limit?

Avoid overloading the boot/rear of the towing vehicle/caravan.

Caravan/Trailer Coupling-the trailer coupling-safety chains securely fastened.

Check jack legs/jockey wheel/water tanks.Gas Cylinders-check levels, properly secured/turned offRollout

Awning, windows doors, hatches all properly closed and secured.

Check wheel bearings, lights & globes, hoses and connections before commencing each tour and regularly during touring.

Check Towing vehicle and caravan registration is current

First Aid Kit. Do you have the right supplies.? Ensure medications are not out of date.
